Enrique Chacon kills Oscar Romero, a Catholic archbishop in San Salvador. The CIA calls a special agent, Malko Linge, a ruined prince who lives with an expensive woman - Countess Alexandra - to get rid of this nuisance of a man. He does, with many encounters with sweet girls, and macho villains.
Directed by Raoul Coutard, S.A.S. San Salvador leans on a strong ensemble — Raimund Harmstorf, Miles O'Keeffe, Dagmar Lassander — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 1983.
