About Della Mortika: Carousel of Shame
he Della Morte Sisters are introduced in this short animated steampunk film 'Della Mortika: Carousel of Shame'. The film follows the sisters after they arrive in Australia and are sent to the Skipping Girl Home for Wayward and Homeless Girls (it is set between books 2 and 3). The Della Morte Sisters have their sisterly bond put to the test when jealousy rears its ugly head. The film has been produced in a stop-motion style using paper puppets and pop-ups to bring the girls from the pages of the books into lively animation.
Directed by Marisa Martin, Della Mortika: Carousel of Shame leans on a strong ensemble — Paul McDermott, Noni Hazlehurst, Laura Brent — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about science fiction titles of 2022.
