About Turistas del narco
Mexican drug trafficker Salvador López, along with his Peruvian partners Leonardo and Rafael, are celebrating the success of their alliance at a private gathering. In the middle of the party, Jorge Cisneros arrives, offering the Peruvians the opportunity to become one of their buyers, which enrages Salvador. The Peruvians reject him, and Cisneros leaves, offended, later attempting to kill the Peruvians. Thus begins an all-out war.
Directed by Alejandro Nieto-Polo, Turistas del narco leans on a strong ensemble — Gerardo Zamora — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2021.
