
After high-school graduation, two teenage best friends from a sleepy desert town face radically different futures: while shy Luz is preparing for her scholarship at UCLA, Paloma must stay behind to take care of her 8-month-old baby boy. In the hopes of spending the last weekend together, happy-go-lucky Paloma insists on driving Luz to UCLA, even when she finds no one else can take care of her baby.
Directed by Elia Urquiza, BFFS leans on a strong ensemble — Inde Navarrette, Haley Sanchez, Nicola Tombacco — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
