
In this instalment, Ippei and his two companions stake 3 million yen of their own money to compete in a contest of conning techniques. Ippei uses his masculine charms to ensnare a female investor (Kei Mizutani), whilst Saki uses her wiles to set a trap for a young entrepreneur. Meanwhile, Genjirō, who had set out to find a mark, meets an aspiring painter; his sympathy for her gradually turns to love. The three distinct schemes merge in Ippei’s mind, leading him to devise an even more elaborate deception.
Directed by —, Swindler's Ippei 7: I Love Painting! leans on a strong ensemble — Kei Mizutani, Sanshō Shinsui, Mika Motosugi — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
