Someone

Yuko, who works at a stamp shop, receives a divorce certificate with her husband's name already filled in. Unable to come to terms with it, she continues to sell stamps that serve as proof of someone's existence. After work, Yuko is asked to look after her nephew, Tomo, and through the time she spends with Tomo, she unexpectedly begins to question her own life.

Directed by Kawamata Ai, Someone leans on a strong ensemble — Saki Tanaka, Nemoto Sakurasuke, Yūko Genkaku — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2020.
