At its center is a couple whose relationship has run aground – he is an artist, a product of popular industrialized culture, who attempts to undermine it by creating exhibitions that use French fries as a symbol of the spirit of the age. His partner tries to make him truly see her through the food she prepares for him. When she sees something she was never meant to see, their relationship is shaken.
Directed by Ilil Alexander, Fries and Lies leans on a strong ensemble — Shiri Golan, Alon Neuman — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
