
The story follows a pair of fraternal twins, Tashriq and Sofea, who live with their mother, Umi Khadijah, after the death of their father from a heart attack. Tuan Kamil, an old family friend, enters their lives with the intention of helping Umi Khadijah through her difficulties. Shortly after his appearance, Umi Khadijah and Tuan Kamil marry. However, Umi Khadijah does not know that Tuan Kamil has a hidden agenda—to seize her assets because he is actually bankrupt. To strengthen his plan, Tuan Kamil instigates Tashriq to side with him and hate his twin sister Sofiya, as part of his scheme is to get rid of Sofiya. One day, Tuan Kamil takes his family camping at a newly opened resort. However, while they are camping, Sofiya goes missing, which deeply worries Umi Khadijah because Sofiya suffers from leukemia. As time passes, Umi Khadijah is forced to accept that her daughter has disappeared and believes she is dead. Several days after losing Sofea, a married couple, Mr. Kifli and Mrs.
Directed by Haji Azman Haji Yahya (Jinggo), Dekatkan Jarak Kita leans on a strong ensemble — Ayda Jebat, Syafiq Kyle, Azhan Rani — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
