The continuation of Budak Tebing tells the story of Tongki, Arif and Talam who are forced to continue their separate lives after failing to enter Pulapol (Police Training Centre). Tongki looks after his father while working but is frequently sabotaged, while Arif faces difficulties dealing with Yoyol who refuses to accept the sudden return of Afendi, their father. Laura decides not to go to London and tries to find her biological mother while Ira attempts to help resolve the problems of two street children, which eventually leads to the exposure of a syndicate and a grudge against Budak Tebing.
Directed by Feroz Kader, Budak Tebing 2 leans on a strong ensemble — Adam Lee, Aedy Ashraf, Bella Dowanna — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2021.
