Luluh

Farhan, who is in his second year of university studies, returns to his village. During that semester break, Farhan is engaged to Khairina, his neighbor and girlfriend since secondary school. However, a week after their engagement ceremony, Husin, Farhan's father, dies while returning from the sea. Since Husin has been the one responsible for supporting the family, Farhan decides to stop his studies in order to take care of his mother and make way for his younger brother, Syakir, to begin his university education. Throughout Syakir's time at university, Farhan works tirelessly to ensure that his younger brother does not face any financial difficulties. Besides that, Farhan also supports Khairina, who is studying at the same university as Syakir.

Directed by Pali Yahya, Luluh leans on a strong ensemble — Aeril Zafrel, Izzue Islam, Ummi Nazeera — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2020.
