About Eight women
Television theatre adaptation of a Robert Thomas play. In an isolated, snow-covered house eight women are preparing for a family gathering. The domestic peace is suddenly disturbed when they discover that the owner of the house has been murdered. Cut off from the world, unable to call for help, so they are forced to solve the mysterious crime by themselves.
Directed by Jan Kulczyński, Eight women leans on a strong ensemble — Hanka Bielicka, Renata Kossobudzka, Barbara Ludwiżanka — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1970.
