Koji, a novelist, plans a secret tryst with his young mistress, Asami, hoping to slip away unnoticed by his wife, Michiko. However, Michiko follows him and shows up at the inn. While Koji tries to find a way to enjoy a romantic encounter with Asami behind his wife's back, he discovers that the inn's proprietress, Takako, was actually Asami's high school teacher—and that the two once shared a lesbian relationship. Unaware of this history, Koji schemes to have sex with Takako as well as Asami...
Directed by Akira Fukamachi, Shôsetsuka no jôji 2: Furin ryokô leans on a strong ensemble — Shinji Kubo, Misaki Wakamiya, Yoko Satomi — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2004.
