Anak Syurga

The arrival of Adam brings happiness to their family. However, that happiness is only temporary when Adam is confirmed to have autism. Ikmal begins to neglect Adam and their household starts to crumble. Pak Sahak, who works as a cleaner at Ikmal's company, notices the change in Ikmal and often advises him. One day Ikmal bumps into Pak Sahak on the roadside because his motorcycle breaks down while returning from a store after buying gifts for his children. Ikmal gives Pak Sahak a ride to his home. At Pak Sahak's house, Ikmal is shocked to learn that both of Pak Sahak's children are persons with disabilities. Ikmal is moved seeing Pak Sahak's family happy despite living modestly. Only then does he realize that he has never been grateful for God's blessings. Then he remembers Adam who has not received love and affection, and begins to show him love and care.

Directed by Along Kamaludin, Anak Syurga leans on a strong ensemble — Ashraf Muslim, Intan Ladyana, Nik Adam Mika — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2019.
