
Set in the big city of Kobe, Hanako (Yuko Tanaka) is a woman who is positive and strong in Japan's old evil society and always tries to live with new values. She questions the state of modern families and considers what freedom and happiness mean through the life of a "pseudo family" in which lonely people live together and seek bonds with others.
Directed by Takeyuki Hirayama, Shiawase no Kuni: Aoi Tori Patapata? leans on a strong ensemble — Yuko Tanaka, Keizo Kanie, Ryutaro Otomo — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
