# The Story of Rahim The story of Rahim, a retired security guard who wants to bring his grandchildren to Merdeka Stadium and share with them all the joys and sorrows of the Merdeka Stadium building's history, hoping that generation will not forget the early history of Malaysia's development. Unfortunately, his efforts are criticized by the parents of those children who view his intentions as trivial and illogical. Razak is ashamed of his father's enthusiasm and actions, and asks his father not to continue with his plan. Rahim remains stubborn, but gradually, Razak feels his father becoming weaker. Eventually, Razak discovers that his father is battling stage four bone cancer. Rahim passes away before he can achieve his dream. Razak, who initially did not think Independence Day was important to him, begins to continue his father's unfulfilled struggle. Finally, he successfully gathers many people to Merdeka Stadium on Independence Day.

Directed by Feroz Kader, Bebaskan Anak Kita leans on a strong ensemble — Rahim Razali, Amar Baharin, Fizz Fairuz — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
