Walter and Henry

Walter and his 12-year-old son Henry are a pair of New York City street musicians living at poverty level in an empty Brooklyn lot. When Walter has a nervous breakdown, it's up to Henry to find his father's long-lost family, including the grandfather and aunt he's never met.

Directed by Daniel Petrie, Walter and Henry leans on a strong ensemble — John Larroquette, Kate Nelligan, Nicholas Braun — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2001.
