
A doctor disbarred for euthanasia is called in by a man to help his son, who has been depressed since the suicide of his partner. But in the dead woman's handbag, an undeveloped film is discovered by the doctor, who decides to investigate the young woman's alleged suicide.
Directed by Yves Boisset, Safety Catch leans on a strong ensemble — Bruno Cremer, Renaud Verley, Marianne Comtell — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about thriller titles of 1970.
