Interspersed among the interviews and archival footage are four dramatized chapters from a pulp novel, "Forbidden Love".
Directed by Aerlyn Weissman, Lynne Fernie, Forbidden Love: The Unashamed Stories of Lesbian Lives leans on a strong ensemble — Stephanie Morgenstern, Lynne Adams, Marie-Jo Thério — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
