Twelve Twenty

Based on a short story by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, this short film tells the story of a man who falls in love with a woman he sees at the check-in counter of an airport, and later sits near her inside the plane bound for Canada. The two passengers never exchange a word.

Directed by Pen-Ek Ratanaruang, Twelve Twenty leans on a strong ensemble — Ananda Everingham, Khemapsorn Sirisukha, Christopher Doyle — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2006.
