Amazones

Four women are sick of being poor. They decide to rob a bank. They are surprised how easily they get away with it and start to commit more robberies. When the net finally closes around them they decide to make one last big hit.

Directed by Esmé Lammers, Amazones leans on a strong ensemble — Monic Hendrickx, Monique van de Ven, Georgina Verbaan — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 2004.
