About Case of Kyoko, Case of Shuichi
Kyoko (Sakura Ando) works as an insurance agent. Due to a series of unfortunate events, she brings shame to her family and has to leave her hometown. Shuichi (Tasuku Emoto) killed his drunken father to save his mother. After he is released from prison, he begins to work at a small factory in Tokyo.
Directed by Eiji Okuda, Case of Kyoko, Case of Shuichi leans on a strong ensemble — Sakura Ando, Tasuku Emoto, Soko Wada — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2013.
