About The Masked Man Against the Pirates
Pirates capture a Spanish ship. After having landed on an island, they try to sell the surviving crew, especially the women. One of them is protected by a pirate who gained her as a prize for having saved the captain's life in the battle that ensued. Suddenly a man masked in green arrives and performs - ever haunting - in favour of the Spanish.
Directed by Vertunnio De Angelis, The Masked Man Against the Pirates leans on a strong ensemble — George Hilton, Claude Dantes, Giovanni Vari — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about adventure titles of 1964.
