
Omar (15) and Karina's (12) mother has a stroke during the family holidays. The siblings, drifting apart, will start a long journey through Mexico towards their grandmother's house. On the road they will face a broken and divided country. Where mistrust, resentment and violence are everywhere. Diverse characters -strangers on their own land- will lead them, in labyrinthic stages, until their final destiny.
Directed by Alejandro Gerber Bicecci, A Separate Wind leans on a strong ensemble — Tomihuatzi Xelhuantzi, Valentina Buzzurro, Úrsula Pruneda — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2014.
