









Local Georgian pilot Mimino dreams of flying airplanes for major international airlines. To realize his aspirations, he goes to Moscow where he encounters a fellow comrade from the Caucasus, the Armenian Rubik. Many misadventures ensue.
Directed by Georgiy Daneliya, Mimino leans on a strong ensemble — Vakhtang Kikabidze, Mher Mkrtchyan, Evgeni Leonov — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1977.
