Paradise Island

The scenery of Samui in 1969 is the background of the musical love story between the couples from the rival families. Sombat Mathanee stars the playboy, Paduempun against Arunya Naamwong who plays the business girl, Napaporn. They came to Paradise Island to take care of their family coconut orchards. They bet who could work more successful. If the guy won, the girl must have married him. If he lost, he gave up his business to her. In the midst of controversy, he fell in love with her. Meanwhile, she began to be confused because she might be in love with him as well.

Directed by Anusorn Mongkolkarn, Paradise Island leans on a strong ensemble — Sombat Metanee, Aranya Namwong, Metta Roongrat — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about romance titles of 1969.
