Gomex has kidnapped Don Roberto and is holding him for ransom. Hoping to rescue Roberto and his daughter, Smith gets a job in Gomez's camp supposedly to repair their guns, instead he fixes them so they will misfire. When Gomez refuses to let him go, he sends his horse for the Sheriff.
Directed by Armand Schaefer, The Hurricane Horseman leans on a strong ensemble — Lane Chandler, Lafe McKee, Walter Miller — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about western titles of 1931.
