A documentary about the meticulous construction of Japanese tea houses in the Mexican Ajusco, as an excuse to discover a mind that at first glance might seem obsessive and eccentric.
Directed by Hari Sama, Sunka Raku (Alegría Evanescente) leans on a strong ensemble — Roberto Behar, Carolina Calderón, Guadalupe Calderón — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2015.
