Steve Corbin (Tristram Coffin) and his gang of cutthroats are terrorizing the townspeople of Rimrock, who in self-defense hire Johnny Macklin (Mack Brown) as new town marshal.
Directed by Lambert Hillyer, The Gentleman from Texas leans on a strong ensemble — Johnny Mack Brown, Claudia Drake, Raymond Hatton — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about western titles of 1946.
