About Muertos de susto
Amparo, a mysterious woman, offers a large payment to quickly cremate a young woman named Lucia. When the funeral home owners refuse, they later discover the body has vanished and, in panic, give Amparo another person’s ashes instead. She pays and leaves, unaware that this mistake will lead the undertakers into the worst trouble of their lives.
Directed by Harold Trompetero, Muertos de susto leans on a strong ensemble — Pedro González, Endry Cardeño, Juan Ricardo Lozano — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2007.
