
The story concerns two agents, one Mexican (PJF) and one American, who are tasked to stop the smuggling of Mexican migrant workers across the border to California. The two agents go undercover, one as a poor migrant.
Directed by Anthony Mann, Border Incident leans on a strong ensemble — Ricardo Montalban, George Murphy, Howard Da Silva — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about crime titles of 1949.
