
Carlos goes to visit his girlfriend Juana at the asylum where she works. Once there, the director introduces him to his niece, who is obsessed with playing the harp, and to a nurse who repeats word for word what Carlos says.
Directed by Fernando Fernán Gómez, Luis María Delgado, Asylum leans on a strong ensemble — Susana Canales, Julio Peña, Elvira Quintillá — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1954.
