









A forty year old woman, who has been in an asylum, goes to live with her brother's family. She proves incapable of adapting herself to family life, takes refuge in the country alone with her memories, and is later returned to the asylum.
Directed by Liliana Cavani, The Guest leans on a strong ensemble — Lucia Bosè, Peter Gonzales Falcon, Glauco Mauri — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1971.
