Time Within Memory

Minoru visits his home on Okinoerabu island for the first time in thirty years. Seeing the old man who used to be in love with his mother, Minoru recalls the old days spent on the island with his young, beautiful mother.

Directed by Tōichirō Narushima, Time Within Memory leans on a strong ensemble — Takahiro Tamura, Atsuko Kaku, Hisano Yamaoka — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1973.
