About Dot and the Smugglers
A circus owner attempts to capture a mysterious Bunyip, but Dot and her bushland friends try to foil his plans. Dot soon discovers that the circus is merely a front for an international wildlife smuggling operation. Backed by her pals, Burra the Kookaburra and two boxing kangaroos, Dot goes on the warpath.
Directed by Yoram Gross, Dot and the Smugglers leans on a strong ensemble — Keith Scott, Robyn Moore, Ross Higgins — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about family titles of 1987.
