The Tube

This is the opportunity of a lifetime: Sabine Fink, a young, ambitious public prosecutor, is entrusted by Chief Public Prosecutor Grabowski with the spectacular case of a tunnel disaster. A catastrophe that cost the lives of entire families. The question of guilt is as good as clear: the truck driver Roman Sikorski drove into a queue of cars while overtired and at far too high a speed. But Fink notices irregularities the first time he looks through the files.

Directed by Dominique Othenin-Girard, The Tube leans on a strong ensemble — Aglaia Szyszkowitz, August Zirner, Ettore Bassi — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 2005.
