The plot concerns a group of insurrectionists who intend to keep Texas separate from the rest of the USA.
Directed by Elmer Clifton, Deep in the Heart of Texas leans on a strong ensemble — Johnny Mack Brown, Tex Ritter, Fuzzy Knight — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
