Story of seven Auschwitz prisoners who have been given thirty days to live, during which they would be gassing and then cremating the transports of deportees and, in the end, be gassed and burned themselves. Based on the play by Djordje Lebovic and Aleksandar Obrenovic.

Directed by Boško Bošković, Ilija Nikolić, Sky Battalion leans on a strong ensemble — Ljuba Tadić, Branko Tatić, Ljubiša Stojčević — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1961.
