About Ma mère me prostitue
Nicole Segaud has a daughter who is a keen dancer, but it seems the mother has no money, or maybe she's a hooker herself as she goes with a man in a limo out into the country where she is raped by a couple of bikers who force the man to watch. The daughter spots an advert saying 'dancing girls wanted'. Her mother takes her to the place which is a peepshow joint run be a very fat man. He explains the work required and gets the daughter to strip, which she doesn't seem to mind at all.
Directed by Francis Leroi, Ma mère me prostitue leans on a strong ensemble — Brigitte Verbecq, Christine Black, Isabelle Brell — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1982.
