In April 1945, Senior Lieutenant Smirnov arrives in Moscow. He just got out of the hospital. His main task is to neutralize the bandits who raid freight trains. Later, Smirnov realize that the leader of the gang of raiders is the one he least suspected.
Directed by Andrei Ladynin, In the Last Place leans on a strong ensemble — Vasiliy Mishchenko, Sergey Sazontyev, Vasili Funtikov — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 1982.
