About A Friend Indeed
Gad and Osama are childhood best friends. Osama was raised by his grandfather, as his parents died in a train crash. When presented with one job opportunity in a gulf country, they agree to let Gad take it and Osama stays behind to take care of his grandpa and Gad’s elderly mother. Five years later, Gad returns to Cairo on vacation and Osama comically convinces him to stay with them.
Directed by Saeed Hamed, A Friend Indeed leans on a strong ensemble — Mohamed Henedi, Ashraf Abdel Baky, Reham Abdelghafour — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2002.
