About Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee
Alcoholic movie director Rahul ends up in a rehabilitation centre. Once there, he meets Pooja, an inmate who is suicidal and has deep ranging mental problems. After an initial clash of personalities, the two become friends and lovers. But Pooja's paranoia and instabillity make any relationship impossible. As a result she is hospitalized in a mental institution. Shortly thereafter there is a fire at this institution, and Pooja is killed. Then Rahul starts getting phone calls from someone whose voice resembles Pooja's.
Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee leans on a strong ensemble — Rahul Roy, Pooja Bhatt, Pooja Bedi — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1993.
