Dracula's Death

The film is about a woman who experiences frightening visions after visiting an insane asylum where one of the inmates claims to be Count Dracula (here following the Hungarian spelling Drakula). She has trouble determining whether the inmate's visions are real or merely nightmares.

Directed by Károly Lajthay, Dracula's Death leans on a strong ensemble — Paul Askonas, Carl Goetz, Lena Myl — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about thriller titles of 1921.
