The story of Aguan who received a scholarship to study in Singapore, but was under control over the cost issue. He then invited his father, Kho Huan, owner of a Barongsai studio, to take part in the lion dance competition, because the prize could be used for living expenses in Singapore, but his father did not approve of it.
Directed by Ario Rubbik, The Last Barongsai leans on a strong ensemble — Rano Karno, Dion Wiyoko, Vinessa Inez — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2017.
