About The Unknown Woman
Ahmed likes Fatima, and feelings of love grow between the two, imagining that they are from noble families. A love story develops, and Ahmed asks Fatima to marry him. After the wedding, they have a son named Samir. One day, Fatima goes to visit Suad at her home, but the police raid the place because it is suspicious. Fatima is arrested, and her life is turned upside down.
Directed by Mahmoud Zulfiqar, The Unknown Woman leans on a strong ensemble — Shadia, Emad Hamdy, Kamal Al-Shenawy — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about romance titles of 1959.
