About Power of Love
A young girl gets a job as a maid to a lecherous old billionaire. During her time there he dies, and decides to leave his money to the object of his desire, rather than his own son. His son's wife however is less than happy about this and sets in motion a chain of sexual dalliances and murder.
Directed by Simon Leung Chi-Wa, Power of Love leans on a strong ensemble — Otomo Rena, Suen Tong, Lam Chak-Ming — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about romance titles of 1993.
