In the spring of 1974, a camera team from Studio H&S succeeded against the explicit orders of the Junta’s Chancellery, entered into two large concentration camps in the north of the country - Chacabuco and Pisagua - leaving with filmed sequences and sound recordings.

Directed by Walter Heynowski, Gerhard Scheumann, I Was, I Am, I Will Be leans on a strong ensemble — Augusto Pinochet, Joaquín Lagos Osorio, Salvador Allende — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about documentary titles of 1974.
