Abduct Me

René Dargelle is asked by a friend to receive a young woman in his place. She is soon to marry a Hindu prince, a man who is certainly attractive, but who cheats on her shamelessly and whom she dreams of making jealous. When Dargelle, out of pure fantasy, asks her to tell right and left that he seduced her, she sees the perfect opportunity to infuriate her noble lover.

Directed by Léonce Perret, Abduct Me leans on a strong ensemble — Jacqueline Francell, Roger Tréville, Arletty — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1932.
