World War II. Italian fascists have interned in the South a lot of people who fought them on the 7th of April 1939 when they came to Albania. Among them, there's an old man whom they call "Daja" (uncle), who fought along with the youth.
Directed by Hysen Hakani, The Old Man and the Enemy leans on a strong ensemble — Sandër Prosi, Marta Burda, Vasjan Lami — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about war titles of 1981.
