About Soul of Rock
The Bamiyans is an unpopular three-member rock band. The band members have totally different personalities, but share the same passion for rock. These three get together and talk at the izakaya, the Japanese-style pub, have a quarrel at the studio and compete with another band to find their love for rock and dreams for the future.
Directed by Hiromitsu Amano, Soul of Rock leans on a strong ensemble — Mayuko Arisue, Asaya Kimijima, Tetsuya Makita — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2012.
