About Al-Zamahlawia
The film revolves around the families of Shehata Hussein and Salim Abu Nawas (Salah Eidullah and Izzat Abu Auf), one of whom belongs to Zamalek football Club and the other to Al-Ahli football Club. Both families have a lot of hostile feelings because of their extreme football fanaticism. Abeer Abu Nawas (Bushra) is in love with Hassan Ibn Shehata (Ahmed Azmi), which puts this story of love in front of the obstacle of football fanaticism of both families.
Directed by Awsakh Fashel, Al-Zamahlawia leans on a strong ensemble — Ezzat Abu Ouf, Salah Abdallah, Hala Fakher — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2008.
